Silverman Studios is pleased to present Salon d' Automne (de la Nouvelle Orleans), the November 7th group exhibition featuring submitted works by local and national artists. This show is presented in honor of Dr. Arthur Silverman, and a portion of the proceeds will go toward the establishment of the Silverman Archives at Tulane University. We hope that through the foundation, Salon d ’Automne will become a yearly event, showcasing fresh and exciting work from the region and beyond. We hope to bring this tradition to New Orleans, in the spirit of the first Salon in Paris in 1903 (established by Rouault, Derain, Matisse, and Marquet), and the numerous Salons that have followed. A short film will be made to commemorate this event, and the formal presentation will include a music and ballet installation performance. A musical composition has been commissioned for the exhibiltion, written for this event by classical guitarists, which will also be performed.
